Concept
Execute more effectively - lead more. This could be the guiding principle of a career as a head of a department. Those who want to reach this position often have to make a decisive change: From being an operative to being an effective leader; from the mentality of "I do everything myself" to delegating; from putting yourself in a position to leading others to success. From a lone fighter to a team player. And even if you already have these skills, the expanded role requires new knowledge and skills relating to management and leadership. Because as a department head, it's all about achieving above-average results thanks to committed employees. The skills required for this are: hiring the right employees; communicating the values and direction of the company; agreeing objectives; promoting, coaching and monitoring their implementation; conducting appraisal interviews, qualifying and praising employees; resolving conflicts and demanding performance. The resulting motivation must then be used as a focused implementation force: for more customer benefit, more quality, more productivity, more profitability.
